Nottingham review (with W.A.S.P.)
OneMetal Gig Review:
W.A.S.P. Supported by House Of Games and McQueen.
I wasn’t given much notice that we were able to cover this show‚ so in all fairness I had very little knowledge‚ if any‚ of the two support bands‚ House Of Games and McQueen. So I had to listen without prejudice and see what these guys were really about.
House Of Games -
House Of Games have a decent pedigree and they were actually really good. Erik the front man cutting a figure extremely reminiscent of Sebastian Bach and Kalle the guitarist‚ reminding me of a chunky Tom Morello‚ complete with baseball cap. Myself and my partner in crime for the evening were debating the appearance of Andrus behind the drum kit‚ and we finally settled with a cross between Zakk Wylde and Animal from the Muppets‚ frantic and efficient behind the kit. We were struggling with bassist Henno though and settled for a much more metal version of a member of Hanson
Musically, they were tight and efficient with decent sounding rock tunes‚ nothing inoffensive and nothing that made you cringe. They definitely left the stage with both of us wanting to hear more from these guys. It was just a shame that they had the thankless task of opening the show.
